A lot of mass multiplayer online role playing games you have to pay monthly subscriptions for, but as they say, all the best things in life are free, and so we're covering just free MMORPG's. 9Dragons to name just 1 of them.

There are plenty of websites that show free MMORPG's and ones you have to pay for, so finding a free online game to
play isn't hard. But the problem is actually finding a mass mulitplayer online that you can actually get into and that
you enjoy playing.

There are so many MMORPG's I've tried to play just to find that they aren't the one for me. Sure, you can look at
online reviews and ratings to try and get an idea of how good a game is, but at the end of the day it's all about
whether you actually like it. And the only way to do that is to simply download it and give it a try!
To the right we've got some free MMORPG's that I've personally played, and some that I haven't. Maybe one of them will
take your fancy and get you hooked straight away.

If you're still in school I would suggest you don't play too many hours, or play online games when you should
actually be doing your school work.
Personally when I was at school I was completely hooked on a game called The Legend of Mir: The Three Heroes. It's a
subscription game, and I really did play it too much. It didn't effect my school work hugely, but I really do feel I
could have done better if I didn't play so much.
So I really would urge you to take a step back and just look at how much time you're spending on online games, and how
much school work you've still got to get through.

 9Dragons - In this martial arts based game you have to master your skills and work your way up the ranks. While leveling up on 9Dragons you obviously obtain better skills, weapons and equipment like most MMORPGs.
 Conquer Online - Set in ancient mythological China, in a wonderfully beautiful and rich 2.5 D world, you control a strong and gallant hero, slaying dangerous monsters and overcoming quests given to you. Conquer Online has an online shop you can buy items from.
 Eudemons Online - EO is ran by TQ Digital (same company who run Conquer Online) and is another F2P (free 2 play) MMORPG. They make their money through an online shopping mall for the game which you don't have to buy from.
 Flyff - Fly For Fun (Flyff) has a cartoony look and feel to it when looking at the screenshots. It reminds me a bit like Ragnarok, but it's probably a completely different feel when actually playing.
 GoonZu - Global Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu is essentially season 2 of the game. A nice GoonZu video review can be watched here as well as checking out the game interface, the requirements of the game and a basic intro of Luminary.
 Kal Online - A free MMORPG with oriental sentiment and culture in a fantasy world. KAL Online is based on oriental myth about the 74th war between Ha-Nin, the great king and Ban-Go who challenged the king with demon troops.
 Kingdom of Loathing - A browser based RPG that is turn-based. It is said that Kingdom of Loathing is still in the open beta stages, but that may just be a really old description of the game. Either way, it's free and is said it will stay that way.
 Knight Online World - The screenshots of this game reminds me a bit of world of warcraft and lineage, those types of 3D games. We link you to the download of Knight Online World (approx 430MB) and to info and screenshots.
 MapleStory - The world's first 2D side-scrolling game while still achieving a 3D look with colourful, detailed backgrounds. A MapleStory gameplay video and screenshots can be seen here, as well as the game requirements.
